October 20, 2026 is a pivotal day in sports. The ALCS reaches its climax with the Rays one win from the World Series, the Brewers already waiting after sweeping the Dodgers, NFL Week 7 in the books, and the NBA and NHL regular seasons approaching. Here is your complete sports update.
### ALCS: Rays Lead Guardians 3-2
| ALCS Game | Score | Key Moment |
|---|---|---|
| Game 1 (Oct 12) | Guardians 7, Rays 3 | Cleveland offense explodes early |
| Game 2 (Oct 13) | Rays 3, Guardians 1 | Tampa Bay bounces back |
| Game 3 (Oct 15) | Guardians 3, Rays 2 | Cleveland takes series lead |
| Game 4 (Oct 17) | Rays 7, Guardians 3 | Tampa Bay ties it up |
| Game 5 (Oct 18) | Rays 3, Guardians 1 | Rays take 3-2 series lead |
| Game 6 (Oct 19) | TBD | Guardians fighting to extend series |
| Game 7 (Oct 20) | TBD (if necessary) | Winner advances to World Series |
The Rays have been here before. They know what it takes to close out a series. But the Guardians have been resilient all season, and a Game 7 at Tropicana Field would be one of the most dramatic moments of the 2026 MLB postseason.
### NLCS: Brewers Sweep Dodgers 4-0
| NLCS Game | Score | Key Moment |
|---|---|---|
| Game 1 (Oct 11) | Brewers 2, Dodgers 1 | Milwaukee takes early lead |
| Game 2 (Oct 12) | Brewers 7, Dodgers 4 | Offense breaks through |
| Game 3 (Oct 14) | Brewers 6, Dodgers 2 | Milwaukee takes commanding 3-0 lead |
| Game 4 (Oct 15) | Brewers 6, Dodgers 4 | Brewers complete the sweep |
The Brewers sweep is all the more remarkable considering the Dodgers won 96 games during the regular season and were the defending NL champions. Milwaukee 103-win regular season was a franchise record, and they have carried that dominance into October.
